There is plenty of curiosity surrounding how the new-look Lakers will perform with Doncic now established as the face of the franchise. While many fans are hoping the offseason changes can help push the team toward a deep playoff run, not everyone is convinced the front office did enough.
Lakers legend and former head coach Byron Scott is among those who remain skeptical.
Scott said the team's offseason additions have not given him much reason for optimism and went as far as calling the Lakers' summer the most overrated of any team in the league.
"The Lakers. The team that you said was going to win 58 games. I think they had the most overrated offseason," Scott said on the Fast Break podcast. "I'm just keeping it real. I'm purple and gold down to the core. But, I mean, everybody was talking about all these great (additions) - no, I just don't see it yet."

The Lakers have completed a major roster overhaul this offseason after losing LeBron James in free agency and bringing in several younger pieces while making Luka Doncic the franchise's main superstar.
After keeping Luka and Austin Reaves, they also brought in Walker Kessler, Sandro Mamukelashvili, Collin Sexton, and Quentin Grimes among their biggest summer acquisitions.
Last season, the Lakers finished as the fourth seed with a 53-29 record and went on to make it to the second round of the NBA playoffs, where they eventually got knocked out by the Oklahoma City Thunder after defeating the Houston Rockets in six games.
