(WVUE) - Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was injured in Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, dislocating the same left elbow that cost him several games last season.
Daniels, the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner from LSU, was injured just before halftime. A Commanders lineman stepped on his foot after the ball was snapped, and Daniels extended his left arm to break his fall. The impact dislocated his elbow instantly, video replays showed.

Daniels was carted off the field and ruled out for the second half of Washington’s 37-20 loss, replaced by Marcus Mariota. The Commanders said Daniels will be sent for imaging tests Monday to determine the extent of his injury.
Daniels, 25, dislocated his left elbow last season in Week 9 against Seattle. He returned four weeks later but re-injured the elbow in Week 14 at Minnesota. He did not play the rest of the season.
