Packers Overcome Historic Trend to Beat Jets in Week 2 1
The Green Bay Packers finally got their first win of the season, and while it wasn’t the sexiest way for them to score a victory, they will always take a W any way they can.
Green Bay needed overtime to take care of business and stave off Geno Smith and the New York Jets on Sunday on the road at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, winning 20-17.
The Packers scored first on a touchdown reception by running back MarShawn Lloyd from Jordan Love in the second quarter. But Green Bay found itself behind by 10 points with a little over 11 minutes left in regulation after a Jason Sanders field goal for the Jets.
A touchdown by wide receiver Christian Watson and a made field goal by Trey Smack eventually forced an overtime, where Smack drilled another field goal for the win.

Somehow, Green Bay managed to escape East Rutherford with a win. The NFC North team didn’t play great and had plenty of issues that still needed to be ironed out.
In any case, Jordan Love and company are on the win column at last, despite being in a situation 44 other teams in the past were not able to overcome.

The Packers are the first team on record (since 1941) to win a game with…
✅ Less than 200 total yards (199)
✅ 100+ penalty yards (133)
✅ Negative turnover margin (-1)
Entering today, teams in that spot were 0-44 🤯
Green Bay picked up just 199 total yards in the Jets game and went a brutal 1/9 on third downs. Those numbers seem like a symptom of a bigger offensive problem for the Packers, who also had 16 first downs only to New York’s 21.
The Packers have days to figure out their woes on that side of the ball before getting back to work in Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday in Green Bay’s season home debut at Lambeau Field.
