Declan Rice is among the England stars to have pulled out of the upcoming internationals, with Thomas Tuchel having called two replacements up to the squad. The Three Lions will play their first match since the summer World Cup disappointment this month as part of an extended international programme throughout September and October.

It starts with a fixture that might've been the World Cup final, had England not collapsed late on against Argentina in July's semi-final. After welcoming Spain to Wembley in the first Nations League fixture, England will face back-to-back away matches against Croatia and Czechia, before finishing up with the reverse clash against the latter next month.

Tuchel spoke of trying to build on the brotherhood established during the last World Cup cycle ahead of a home European Championship in just under two years. However, the German will be without a number of big names, including midfield maestro Rice.

The Arsenal man has withdrawn from the squad, alongside fellow international team-mates Marcus Rashford, Tino Livramento, Kobbie Mainoo, and Cole Palmer.
