Everton have been handed a 6/10 rating for their start to the Premier League season despite reaching the international break unbeaten under David Moyes.
The Blues have taken nine points from their opening five league games, winning twice and drawing three, while conceding only three goals.
Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town also made it three consecutive clean sheets in all competitions and extended Everton’s unbeaten start to seven matches.
BBC Sport highlights Everton resilience under Moyes
BBC Sport rated Everton six out of 10 in its assessment of Premier League clubs after the opening five rounds of fixtures.
The assessment pointed to a difficult summer transfer window while crediting Moyes with making his side difficult to beat and highlighting their resilience during the opening weeks of the season.
The numbers support the latter point. Everton have conceded three goals in five Premier League matches, with Jordan Pickford keeping three clean sheets.
Moyes’ side have also come through games against Manchester United and Tottenham without defeat. The 0-0 draw in North London was followed by 1-0 victories over Wolves in the Carabao Cup and Ipswich in the league, giving Everton three clean sheets in eight days.
Across all competitions, the Blues have won four and drawn three of their seven games, scoring 11 goals and conceding three. Five of those seven matches have ended with Pickford’s goal intact.
Everton’s attacking numbers have been more modest in the Premier League, with six goals from their five games. Thierno Barry has two of those and leads the club’s overall scoring with five in all competitions.
The 6/10 rating leaves plenty of room for improvement, but Everton return from the international break with an unbeaten record and nine points already on the board.
Their next Premier League game is away to Hull City on Sunday 11 October.
