Tyler Shough Has Chris Olave Predicting a Top QB Finish After Lights-Out Start 1
Chris Olave has seen enough from Tyler Shough to make a pretty strong prediction. Two games into the 2026 season, and the New Orleans Saints quarterback has already changed the conversation around his future. After another impressive outing in the Baltimore Ravens, Olave believes Shough could end the year among the NFL’s top quarterbacks.
That is a big statement this early; however, Shough has given his teammates plenty to talk about.

The Saints just picked up their first win of the season, and Shough had a lot to do with it. New Orleans went into Baltimore and came back from an eight-point halftime deficit to beat the Ravens 24-17.
Shough was especially good when the game needed him most.

He completed all five of his passes on a fourth-quarter touchdown drive that covered 68 yards. The final play was a 21-yard touchdown to Olave, cutting into the Ravens’ lead. After the Saints’ defense forced a quick stop, Shough took over again, leading a 16-play drive that ended with him scoring on a fourth-down quarterback sneak.
By the time it was over, Shough had completed 27 of 34 passes for 252 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for another score and finished without a turnover.
Olave was on the receiving end of eight of those completions for 86 yards and the touchdown. After watching Shough handle another difficult road game, he wasn’t shy about where he thinks this could be going.
The Saints nearly pulled off another comeback in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions. The Saints eventually lost that game in overtime; however, Shough put them in position to steal it after a rough start. The Ravens game finally gave him the finish that was missing.
There was also plenty of attention on Shough before the game because of the Ravens defensive coordinator, Anthony Weaver’s “poor man’s Josh Allen” comparison. Shough’s coaches reportedly used that line throughout the week, and the quarterback acknowledged afterward that he knew what Weaver meant. Nevertheless, in the matchup against Baltimore, Shough appeared very much at ease handling the offensive attack of the Saints. He delivered the football to his best receivers without any turnovers that could have spoiled the game on the road and made the necessary moves at crucial moments.
Olave has been one of the major gainers from the Saints’ performances. The touchdown that Olave scored for the Saints was during the fourth-quarter rally, but besides him, Juwan Johnson and Devaughn Vele made good showings as well. Johnson had four receptions for 66 yards, while Vele recorded five receptions for 64 yards.
At least for now, the Saints have a quarterback who has had two successful starts of the season, and one of the major players is sure about his future achievements.
