Jayden Daniels injury update following the Commanders QB undergoing imaging image
NFL Week 2 brought a nasty round of franchise quarterbacks getting injured, including Washington Commanders signal-caller Jayden Daniels and Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams.
For Daniels, the player unfortunately suffered a dislocated left elbow during Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys. The incident happened on the last play of the first half while executing a third-and-goal from the one-yard line.
During the play, Daniels took the snap from under center, but his left foot was accidentally stepped on by left guard Chris Paul, and that threw him off balance. As he stumbled, Daniels reached his left arm toward the turf to brace his fall, but his elbow bent backward, resulting in a repeat dislocation of the same elbow he injured during the 2025 season.

On Monday, NFL insider of ESPN and the NFL Network Ian Rapoport shared an update.
In a post on X, Rapoport stated that Daniels has officially undergone imaging and "will consult with a variety of experts over the next few days as is team protocol, sources say."
So, it's an update, but also without much new information. Following the incident, Commanders head coach Dan Quinn also gave some information, confirming that Daniels dislocated his elbow but stating that X-rays, thankfully, showed no fracture. He mentioned at the time that Daniels would fly home with the team to have additional testing Monday.
The Commanders are expected to start Marcus Mariota for their next game, and the early decision shows just how serious Daniels' injury could be. Here's to hoping for some good news about Daniels after the imaging results come back.
