Trae Young is set to return to court for the Washington Wizards after only playing five games for them since the trade that brought him to the United States capital and showed excitement to play with new teammate.
Young praised the Wizards No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, AJ Dybantsa, wanting to play alongside the young prospect.
"He's cold, bro. He's the real deal," Young said in an appearance on Michael Porter Jr.'s podcast.
"And I mean, when I got traded, it was just like obviously I knew we weren't going to be in a winning situation. So when we ended up getting it [1st overall pick], I was just like, man, if it's AJ, I mean, I know we gonna get a real-deal player."
"And everything that I thought about his game before I've seen him live and just been around him and being around his dad and his people, I mean, it's all been positive."

New-look Wizards
The Wizards are set to look way different from the last few years. After failing to win more than 20 games in any of the last three seasons, they will be looking to make a comeback after a few vital acquisitions.
The addition of Trae Young and Anthony Davis via trades has certainly raised the Wizards floor if they remain healthy.
Dybantsa has shown promise as the top player in a stacked Draft class alongside many other young players of Washington, who are supposed to improve over previous seasons.
