After suffering a stinger on his first carry of the Philadelphia Eagles' Week 2 win over the Tennessee Titans, Saquon Barkley's status for Week 3 immediately became the biggest story with the Chicago Bears up next on the schedule.

Discussing Barkley's status in an appearance on Good Morning Football, ESPN NFL Insider Ian Rapoport revealed that, according to Nick Sirianni, the injury is expected to be minor and he will most likely play through it.

“Two big stars injured yesterday, varying degrees of injury though. We'll start with what seems to be the more minor one. Saquon Barkley left the game with a stinger. So I'm walking kind of early in the first half, walking to the locker room, came back with a neck roll like he was Latimer from The Program, which is not making fun. It looked awesome. It looked like a baller. He was able to come back. That is a very good sign,” Schefter said.

“But the fact that he's going to have an MRI today, I would say is more cautious than anything else. Did not sound like a major injury. Did not sound like something more than just a stinger, which is essentially a pinched nerve in his neck, which is something that players have from time to time. But more information coming on Saquon right there.”

Schefter also commented on Dallas Goedert, who left the game with a knee injury. While there's no official news on his status just yet, he will most likely miss time, depending on what his MRI says.

“As far as Dallas got at their veteran tight end, he was knocked out of the game with a knee injury,” Schefter said. “No information yet, but he's going to have an MRI today to determine the severity of his knee injury. Generally, that means players end up missing time. But obviously, we will see what the status of Dallas got. It is after going down right there, a midway through the second quarter.”

While the Eagles may end up facing a Bears team without Caleb Williams, who suffered an injury of his own in Chicago's Week 2 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, if the Titans clash is of any indication, Sean Mannion may need to seriously hit the drawing board to figure out how to supercharge his largely unimpressive run game regardless of who gets the starts – not to mention Howie Roseman making a call to Zach Ertz to add another serious weapon at tight end.
