Liverpool head into the international break in in sixth place after Alexander Isak’s goal earned an important victory against Bournemouth on Sunday.

The match marked Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola’s return to the south coast, with the Spaniard having left the Cherries at the end of last term.

Neither side could find the back of the net until deep into the second-half, when Isak pounced to score his fourth Premier League goal of the season so far.

After the international break, the Reds will face rivals Manchester City in the Premier League, before a Champions league tie against Austrian outfit LASK.

In the meantime, though, it has emerged that the Merseyside outfit have entered into the race to land a highly-rated defender from the Dutch top flight.

As per TEAMtalk, Liverpool have joined the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City in showing interest in Feyenoord full-back Givairo Read.

Iraola took charge of Liverpool over the summer after leaving Bournemouth

The report claims that the trio of Premier League sides have all been monitoring the 20-year-old, who has impressed for the Rotterdam outfit so far this term.

Read joined Feyenoord as a teenager back in 2023 and has since progressed into the first team.

He has now featured 62 times for the club across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing an impressive 16 assists.

The report suggests that the full-back’s impressive displays have put him on the radar of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool as they look for possible candidates to solve their issues on the right side of defence.

The defender is under contract in Rotterdam until the end of the 2028/29 campaign, but it appears that the Eredivisie side could face a battle to keep hold of the player beyond next summer’s transfer window.
