Mere minutes after Jaxson Dart was taken out of action by a brutal hit to the leg by two Los Angeles Rams defenders, New York Giants fans watched in horror as another one of their franchise players, Malik Nabers, exited the field in pain following a big hit.
While the initial hit didn't look particularly violent, with Nabers fighting Trent McDuffie for a 50-50 ball on the sidelines, the LSU wide receiver immediately grabbed his shoulder and went to the sidelines in pain, struggling to use his appendage as he grimaced in pain.
Fortunately, while things looked bad for Nabers, he was able to return to the field, seeing second-quarter action for the Giants before heading into halftime down 14-3.

The Giants' passing game needs to come alive without Jaxson Dart
While getting Nabers back against the Rams is certainly better than not having him at all, the Giants struggled to capitalize on his return in the first half, with Jameis Winston completing just four of his 12 attempts for 58 yards. While the Giants have been afforded a few chances to swing the momentum, like from a key Jevon Holland interception or a recovered Kyren Williams fumble – also by Holland – when the Giants got into scoring range, one drive ended in a field goal and the other in a Jameis Winston interception.
Can the Giants pull off the MNF upset without their franchise quarterback under center? Only time will tell, but for that to happen, Nabers will have to get involved in the action.
