The Los Angeles Rams hardly broke a sweat in their victory over the New York Giants, 28-6, at SoFi Stadium on “Monday Night Football,” with Matthew Stafford showing why he is the reigning MVP.
Stafford set the tone for the Rams, throwing for two touchdowns in the first half. They took a double-digit lead, 14-3, at the break. From there, it was easy pickings for Los Angeles.
The 38-year-old Stafford went 22-of-31 for 327 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception.
After the win, the Rams rubbed salt in the Giants' wound on X.
“Ate the W,” read the post.
The Rams bounced back from their season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Australia.
The post also ate, as it riled up the Giants' fans.

“All six Rams fans are pumped that you beat the Giants' backups,” added @Johnknicks56.
“Now go burn those uniforms,” wrote @tara_ucf.
“Beat us without QB1, and y'all still looked like s***. I see a divisional round exit,” predicted @riley4sjr.
“Oh please. You only won cause (Jaxson) Dart was out,” commented @NIZOLIE.
Dart was forced to leave the game in the first quarter due to a knee injury.
Stafford got plenty of help, with Davante Adams getting eight touches for 195 yards and two touchdowns. Kyren Williams and Terrance Ferguson also found the end zone after connecting with Stafford.
Aaron Donald, meanwhile, had three total tackles, including one for loss, in his much-anticipated return to action.
The Rams will visit the Denver Broncos in Week 3.
