New York Knicks assistant coach Ed Flynn will serve as Mike Brown's new "challenge guy" this season, according to Stefan Bondy of The New York Post.
Flynn spent the past three seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans and most recently worked as their head video coordinator. His official title with the Knicks is assistant coach/special situations.
In New York, Flynn will monitor replays on an iPad and quickly advise Brown whether the Knicks should use a coach's challenge or let the play stand.
Jordan Brink handled those duties for New York over the past two seasons and posted a strong success rate on challenges.
Brink's contract with the Knicks expired, and he left for a job with the Chicago Bulls, according to the same report.

Before Brink, Scott King and Darren Erman also served as the Knicks' "challenge guys."
Flynn joins a Knicks coaching staff that remains largely unchanged from last season, where top assistants Chris Jent, Rick Brunson, Brendan O'Connor, and Erman are reportedly all returning.
Flynn played college basketball at Williams College in Massachusetts and later worked as a graduate assistant at the University of Miami before joining the Charlotte Hornets as a video intern and then video coordinator.
Flynn moved to New Orleans in 2023.
