When the Los Angeles Rams acquired superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett in a blockbuster trade with the Cleveland Browns, most of the NFL felt that it made them a top-tier Super Bowl contender.
Just one year ago with the Browns, Garrett broke the single-season sack record. Taking his talents to a Rams team that made a run to the NFC Championship Game last season was a seismic shakeup for the league. Unfortunately, his tenure with the team has gotten off to a rough start.
After playing in Week 1 for Los Angeles against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia, Garrett admitted that his knee injury was worse than expected. He underwent arthroscopic surgery to fix the problem and was placed on IR, which will force him to miss at least four games. However, the injury could force him to miss more time than just four weeks.
Head coach Sean McVay spoke out after the Rams defeated the New York Giants in Week 2 with a concerning new update about Garrett’s potential return timeline.

Los Angeles Rams Reveal Concerning Myles Garrett News
As shared by ESPN’s Lisa Salter, McVay has said that Garrett could miss anywhere from four to eight weeks. That eight week period would be double the amount of time missed for the Los Angeles superstar.
“Sean McVay telling us Garrett could be out anywhere from four to eight weeks,” Salter said. “He said Myles was in the building this week. As you can see, he’s walking on his own without crutches. So according to the Rams, Garrett is recovering well, but they are not gonna rush him back. So it really is no timetable yet for his return.”
Without Garrett, the Rams’ defense is nothing close to the unit it was expected to be. For Los Angeles to live up to the hype of being a Super Bowl favorite, the team will need Garrett back on the field.
Garrett failed to record a single statistic during the season opener.
Last season in Cleveland, the 30-year-old star showcased what he’s capable of producing. He played in all 17 regular season games, racking up 60 total tackles to go along with 23 sacks, three forced fumbles, and a defended pass.
Hopefully, the recovery process goes smoothly and quickly for Garrett. The Rams truly need him back closer to four games than eight missed. More information is sure to come out about his return timeline over the next couple of weeks.
