**Jordan Pickford has made an excellent start to the season for [Everton](https://readeverton.com/) after returning from a demanding summer with England at the World Cup.**
Five Premier League games into the campaign, Pickford has conceded only three goals and kept three clean sheets. He has made 15 saves from the 18 shots on target he has faced, giving him a save percentage of 83.3.
Everton writer Matt Jones highlighted Pickford’s early-season numbers on social media, with the goalkeeper’s three goals conceded and three clean sheets both among the best returns in the Premier League.
The 32-year-old has also prevented 1.55 goals according to FotMob’s expected-goals data, while his 83.3 per cent save percentage underlines how little has got past him so far.
His latest clean sheet came in Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Ipswich Town at the Hill Dickinson. Pickford made four saves, including an important first-half stop from Abdul Fatawu after Everton had lost possession.
That followed another clean sheet in the goalless draw at Tottenham a week earlier.
Pickford has already picked up an individual award this season too. His save from Eddie Nketiah during Everton’s 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace was named the Premier League’s Save of the Month for August.
It was Pickford’s fifth success since the award was introduced, extending his record as the goalkeeper to have won it most often.
There was some understandable interest in how Pickford would start the season after his World Cup workload. So far, the numbers are pretty straightforward: three clean sheets, three goals conceded and 15 saves from five league games.
