Christopher Nkunku was forced out of AC Milan this summer, a year after leaving Chelsea for the San Siro. Ruben Amorim decided to offload Nkunku largely because of a new player on Chelsea’s radar.
Nkunku spoke recently about his Chelsea exit, suggesting the tactics did not suit him while Enzo Maresca was in charge. But his time at Milan didn’t go to plan either, and he has returned to Leipzig on loan.
This guy is a stubborn mule. He got rid of Chalobah, who's been a reliable and kingpin in the defense and strengthened in other areas but in defense.
Lacroix has been a brilliant addition but the guys alongside him seem to be the problem. Think you can upgrade on both of those and losing Caicedo would weaken anyone. The front three are as good as anyone else’s though
Nkunku’s departure could have left a gap at Milan, with Ruben Amorim now manager. But teen striker Francesco Camarda has given Amorim another option after returning to Milan from a loan at Lecce.

Chelsea reignite interest in Milan striker Francesco Camarda
According to a report from TeamTalk, Chelsea are ‘hugely’ interested in signing Francesco Camarda. The 18-year-old Italian was promised game time, but under Amorim, he’s hardly had a sniff back at Milan.
Indeed, Camarda has hardly played for Milan. Unused in three of five Serie A matches this season, the Italy international has come on in Milan’s last two – but has managed a grand total of just eight minutes.
The report indicates Chelsea were interested in Camarda before his loan to Lecce last season, where he played 23 times. Now, Chelsea are monitoring the situation with Camarda lacking in regular minutes.
Chelsea are not the only side interested in Camarda
Tottenham, Brighton and Brentford are also keeping tabs on Camarda, though it is unclear how much Milan would consider. Camarda has a contract at the San Siro until the summer of 2031, a long deal.

But Chelsea and Milan are old pals. Even if Mike Maignan never ended up in London, Milan have got Christian Pulisic, Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and many more from the Blues over the years.
Nkunku is another example. There is a world where Chelsea pay a big fee to sign one of Italy’s most talented players, the man Milan have backed to replace Nkunku. For now, Milan want to keep Camarda.
