Mohamed Salah is now top of the scoring charts in the Turkish Super Lig, with a hat-trick against Galatasaray bringing him up to seven for Trabzonspor already.
Salah has scored seven goals in six Super Lig games for Trabzonspor, with only Amedspor striker Gift Orban netting as many since the start of the campaign.
It comes after a shock move from Liverpool to Turkey in August, with the Egyptian having terminated his contract a year early following a dispute with Arne Slot and higher-ups.
The deal is believed to earn Salah a record-breaking salary, with his two-year contract worth £280,000 a week, while Trabzonspor also paid a £4.3 million signing-on bonus and guaranteed 20 percent of future merchandise sales.
No player in the history of the Super Lig has been paid more than the 34-year-old, who after misfiring in his first two games is now on an impressive streak.
Mo Salah produced Super Lig first vs. Galatasaray
Salah’s seven goals have come in his last five league games, scoring against Basaksehir FK (two), Amed SK, Genclerbirligi Ankara and Galatasaray (three).
Along with his hat-trick in Saturday’s 4-0 thrashing of Galatasaray, the legendary forward also registered an assist for Noah Saviolo.
Per Opta, it is the first time since records began that any player has been involved in four or more goals against Galatasaray in a Super Lig game.
Such is Salah’s popularity in Turkey that a rock he sat on while visiting the Trabzon highlands has now become a tourist destination for supporters.

Trabzonspor are currently seventh in the league having taken 10 points from their first six games, while they were knocked out of the Europa League playoffs with a 5-0 aggregate defeat to Ferencvaros.
Head coach Fatih Tekke resigned live on TV immediately after the second leg – which means Trabzonspor will play in the UEFA Conference League – but the club rejected it.
But days later, a U-turn saw his resignation accepted, with an official statement explaining that Tekke’s departure came “in line with Trabzonspor’s interests and long-term objectives.”
Thomas Reis was appointed his successor and two days later he oversaw the 4-0 win over Galatasaray which brought Salah’s record feat.
