Prime Video drew its third-best NFL regular-season audience yet with Lions-Bills opening the new Highmark Stadium in Week 2. The 18.6 million viewers is also the streamer’s best figure yet for a season-opening game during the five years it’s had “Thursday Night Football.” Since Prime began carrying “TNF” back in 2022, only Broncos-Chiefs on Christmas last year (21.1 million) and Cowboys-Lions last December (19.4 million) have drawn better among all regular-season games that Amazon has aired.

Lions-Bills had a median age of 47.4, which is just over six years younger than the median age of an NFL viewer on linear TV this season to date (54).

The game peaked at 21.4 million viewers early in the contest from 9:15-9:30pm ET. Viewers also tuned in early to check out Highmark Stadium’s unveiling, as the “TNF Tonight” pregame show, with 2.78 million viewers, had its second-best audience on record. Viewers also stayed after the game, as “TNF Nightcap” averaged 3.66 million, which is a record for the postgame show.
