Former Real Madrid playmaker Rodrigo Fabri has told Endrick to forget about the Santiago Bernabeu amid reports claiming that Chelsea are keen on the Brazilian forward. Both the Blues and Arsenal are keeping an eye on the 20-year-old, whose opportunities look greatly reduced in the Spanish capital.
Endrick has only seen four minutes of action for Jose Mourinho this term and also missed Los Blancos’ opening four La Liga fixtures due to a muscular problem. However, his marginalisation seems a little surprising given his prolific loan spell at Lyon last season, where he bagged eight goals and eight assists in 21 appearances.
Speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Fabri said:
“Signing for Real Madrid was a mistake. I would tell Endrick that the best thing for him is to move to another club where he can play and develop as a footballer…
“I see that he is barely featuring. He is very young, is considered a cornerstone of the Brazilian national team’s rebuilding process, and has talent.
“I would tell him that if he isn’t getting many opportunities, which is currently the case, the best thing to do is move to another team where he can play and develop as a footballer.”
Fabri joined Real Madrid in 1998, aged 22, snubbing approaches from Roma and Deportivo La Coruna. However, he never played a competitive game and joined Atletico Madrid in 2003. Endrick is in a slightly better situation, having scored seven goals in 41 appearances for Madrid since joining from Palmeiras in 2024.
This summer, Xabi Alonso signed 35-year-old Brighton man Danny Welbeck, but the Blues are believed to be eyeing another attacking recruit next year.
Chelsea’s Winless Run Extends To Three With Heavy Loss At Brentford
Chelsea’s Premier League campaign has lurched into turbulence, with Alonso’s side suffering a 3-0 defeat at Brentford on Friday, September 18. The result extended the Blues’ winless league run to three games following a defeat to Arsenal and a 2-2 draw against Hull City.
Without injured Joao Pedro and Reece James, the visitors held firm until the 61st minute when Jaidon Anthony headed home from a corner. Igor Thiago and substitute Fabio Carvalho compounded Chelsea’s woes, with the latter scoring in injury time to round off a convincing win.
Chelsea had 59% possession but only 0.82 expected goals compared to Brentford’s 2.65. Alonso’s 3-4-2-1 system resulted in 28 crosses, just two of which were accurate, while the Bees scored three of their four big chances. The Blues have slipped to tenth and will look for answers during the international break.
