Jets to sign former polarizing Titans quarterback in very fascinating move image
The New York Jets won their Week 1 matchup over the Tennessee Titans, but lost Week 2 to the Green Bay Packers. A few days after that loss, the Jets have made a roster move.
While Geno Smith is going to be the starter going forward, barring injury, and rookie fourth-rounder Cade Klubnik will be the backup, the third quarterback spot is open. And now, they've added a new outside face to join the fray.
According to Tom Pelissero of The Ringer, the Jets are signing former Titans QB Will Levis to the practice squad, taking the place of Bailey Zappe in what's a very fascinating free-agent signing.
Jets make very fascinating Will Levis free agent signing
"Former Titans QB Will Levis is signing with the Jets' practice squad, sources tell @ringer @netflixsports," Pelissero reports.
Levis is joining the Jets practice squad, taking over for Zappe, as the former New England Patriots and Cleveland Browns quarterback is being released by the Jets with the addition of Levis this week.
It's a very interesting addition for the Jets, as they had been looking for quarterback depth for much of the offseason and wound up not adding it and keeping Klubnik as their No. 2 QB.
But now, they're adding Levis, taking a chance on the former Titans quarterback who has made 21 starts during his NFL career.

Levis missed the entire 2025 season due to a shoulder injury, but has shown intriguing upside during his NFL career.
Levis has a 5-16 record in 21 starts, throwing 556 passes and completing 339 for a 61.0 completion percentage. He has 3,899 passing yards and 21 touchdowns, but has 16 interceptions.
He has also taken 69 sacks in two seasons and has fumbled the ball 17 times during his career as well. Levis, the now 27-year-old quarterback drafted 33rd overall by the Titans out of Kentucky back in 2023, is the Jets' third-string QB after this roster move.
It's a very intriguing addition, as the upside with Levis is appealing enough to warrant a roster spot for the boom-or-bust quarterback. He might not see any actual playing time this year for the Jets, but this is still a fun pickup for the Jets this season.
