Chicago Bears Hit With Bad Injury News Outside of Caleb Williams 1
The Chicago Bears went through a major injury scare on Sunday afternoon when star quarterback Caleb Williams went down with a hamstring injury. Williams was carted off the field in tears following the injury, leading many to believe that it could be serious.
While Williams’ reaction caused quite a stir, updates have come out that he avoided a severe injury. He could miss some time due to a light hamstring strain, but he likely won’t miss any substantial amount of game action.
Heading into Week 3, it seems likely that Williams will sit out against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. That led many to believe that Tyson Bagent would get a start in his absence.
That being said, a new injury report has thrown Bagent’s status into question.

Chicago Bears Hit With Brutal Tyson Bagent Injury Update
Unfortunately, according to a report from longtime NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Bears may be forced to play without Bagent as well. He has been placed into concussion protocol.
“Bears QB Tyson Bagent is dealing with a concussion and is in the NFL’s concussion protocol, sources say,” Rapoport wrote. “With Caleb Williams likely out with a hamstring injury, Case Keenum could be the starter vs the Eagles.”
Keenum has a decent amount of NFL experience. He has played in 80 career games, completing 62.3 percent of his pass attempts for 15,175 yards, 79 touchdowns, and 51 interceptions. At 38 years old, he will at least bring experience to the field if called upon.
Ben Johnson came into the season targeting having the most explosive offense in NFL history. After putting up just three points against the Vikings in Week 2, that goal seems farfetched. Being down two quarterbacks heading into Week 3 makes things even more difficult.
Only time will tell whether or not Bagent can progress through the concussion protocol and get cleared for Monday night. He does have an extra day to do so do the Monday Night Football schedule. Perhaps he’ll be able to return in time for the Bears.
Should he be unable to do so, Chicago will turn to Keenum. Johnson’s playbook would almost certainly have to change a bit if Keenum gets the starting nod against Philadelphia.
