Packers Lose Offensive Starter For The Rest Of The Season “He’s Done”
Zach Bako-Bewele (formerly Zach Tom) has become one of the more reliable pieces on Green Bay‘s offensive line. Unfortunately, the team will have to replace him for the rest of the season after it was reported that he tore his patellar tendon.
The timing is awful. Green Bay spent the off-season trying to establish some stability up front, and Bako-Bewele was a big part of that plan. He’s started 51 games in his first four NFL seasons and has played a major role in keeping pressure off Jordan Love. The Packers’ offensive line has also taken additional hits, with Aaron Banks and Donovan Jennings being impacted by injuries this year.

Now the Packers have to figure out who can step in at right tackle without throwing the rest of the line into chaos. The chemistry between five offensive linemen matters, particularly for an offense built around getting Love comfortable in the pocket and giving the running game a chance to develop.
Bako-Bewele’s absence will ultimately put more pressure on Love and the rest of the offense. Green Bay can survive losing one player, but losing a proven starting tackle while already dealing with other injuries up front will be tough. What looked like a promising offensive line situation coming into the season has suddenly become one of the biggest concerns on the Packers’ roster.
