Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott Lands Strong Words from Bill Belichick 1
The Dallas Cowboys and quarterback Dak Prescott were able to even up their record at 1-1 on Sunday afternoon against the Washington Commanders. When all was said and done, the team took home a big win by a final score of 37-20.
Prescott bounced back from a rough Week 1 performance against the New York Giants. He was sharp throughout the win over the Commanders, completing 26 of his 31 pass attempts for 279 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions. Prescott also chipped in with 26 yards on four carries.
In the process of his big performance, Prescott officially broke the passing touchdowns record for the Cowboys.
With that strong Week 2 performance in the rearview window, Dallas is focusing on its upcoming matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3. Ahead of that game, legendary NFL head coach Bill Belichick spoke out with strong words about Prescott.

Bill Belichick Speaks Out With Strong Words About Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott
As shared by longtime Cowboys reporter Clarence Hill Jr., Belichick is clearly a big fan of Prescott.
“Prescott’s had a tremendous career. A lot of times maybe underappreciated. But he’s been a pillar for that organization for a long time,” Belichick said.
“Dak became the all-time touchdown leader for the Cowboys. That’s a pretty big statement there. Just the career that he’s had, off to another good start this year, I think you gotta recognize what he’s done over, not just yesterday, but his whole career. It’s impressive.”
To start his NFL career, Prescott ended up being the No. 135 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2016 draft. He wasn’t given much of a chance to become a superstar in the NFL. Despite that humble beginning, Prescott has become one of the league’s most underrated stars.
Throughout his career thus far, the 33-year-old quarterback has played in 141 games. He has completed 67 percent of his passes for 36,443 yards, 249 touchdowns, and 93 interceptions, while also running for 2,155 yards and 31 more touchdowns.
Entering the 2026 NFL season, Dallas was hopeful of being a Super Bowl contender. In order to be a true contender, the Cowboys are going to need a big-time season from Prescott.
Prescott performed up to his level of expectations against the Commanders. Every quarterback has off days like he had in Week 1, but the production he gave the team in Week 2 is exactly what the team was hoping to see offensively in 2026. Hopefully, he can carry that momentum into Week 3 against a Ravens team that will be hungry for a win after losing to the New Orleans Saints.
