Wales Under-19s will begin preparations for their second-round UEFA European Championship qualifying campaign with an international tournament in Marbella, Spain.
Head coach Jon Grey has named his squad for the fixtures, with Wales facing the USA on Tuesday, September 29, Norway on Friday, October 2, and Northern Ireland on Monday, October 5.
Liverpool defender Prince Cisse, who signed his first professional contract with the club in June 2026 has been included in Wales’ squad.
The 18-year-old has been with Liverpool since the pre-Academy stage and made his U21 debut during the 2025-26 season.
Cisse has transitioned from attacker to defender in recent years and now primarily plays as a centre-back. The son of 2005 Champions League winner Djibril Cisse, he scored on his U21 debut in March 2026, heading home against Tottenham Hotspur in a Premier League 2 victory.
Prince was not even born during any of his father Djibril Cisse’s two seasons at Anfield, where the former Liverpool striker scored 24 goals and won three major honours.
“I’ve seen the highlights,” Prince told Liverpoolfc.com. “It’s nice to watch him back, see what he was like. A bit of a crazy player with his mad hairstyles and all that.
“Me playing centre-back now, he was probably a striker that I wouldn’t want to play against. He seemed like a good player.
“I had pace but maybe my goalscoring ability probably wasn’t as good as his, hence why I’ve been moved to centre-back. He was lightning-quick but I’d say I’m maybe a bit quicker.”
Wales will face Finland, Iceland and 2026 tournament winners Spain in the second round of European Championship qualifying, with the games set to be hosted in Wales later this year.
