Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart suffered a knee injury during Week 2’s primetime loss to the Los Angeles Rams, and the New York Giants quarterback will miss some action. A first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Mississippi product began his career on the bench before earning a starting job early in his rookie season. In total, he made 12 starts, going 4-8 while completing 63.7% of his passes for 2,272 yards, 15 touchdowns, and five interceptions. He started his 2026 season on a high note, leading his team to a win over the rival Dallas Cowboys while completing 23 of his 29 attempts for 230 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions.
Unfortunately, Jaxson Dart suffered a knee injury early against the Los Angeles Rams and left the game after just five pass attempts. While early reports indicated that the quarterback only suffered a strain, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport recently tweeted that further testing revealed Dart’s injury is “worse than anticipated” and could prematurely end his season.

Jaxson Dart Injury Update: Giants QB Suffers Sprained MCL
With Jaxson Dart (presumably) sidelined for at least the next few weeks, the New York Giants will place their season in the hands of quarterback Jameis Winston. The former first-overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Winston is one of the league’s best backup quarterbacks and one of the league’s more erratic starters. Famous for his ‘guns blazing’ style of play, Winston never shies away from a downfield throw, which leads to a lot of big plays and turnovers. At 1-1, New York is in the thick of the division race and will need Winston to keep the team afloat while Dart recovers.
Since entering the league, Jaxson Dart is 5-9 as a starter and has completed 64.9% of his passes for 2,522 yards, 18 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
