With the Chicago Bears facing the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 3 on Monday night, the status of star Caleb Williams is on everyone's mind, with the likelihood of him playing revealed on Tuesday. As Williams deals with a hamstring injury with the Bears, this NFL insider gives insight into what he's hearing about the quarterback's status.
According to league insider Ian Rapoport, not only is Williams “not expected” to practice ahead of Monday's game against the Eagles, he is “unlikely to play.”
“Caleb Williams is not expected to practice this week, which does not bode well for his availability Monday night against the Philadelphia Eagles. I would go so far as to say he is unlikely to play, especially when you consider that Ben Johnson said he would almost certainly miss time,” Rapoport said on ESPN's SportsCenter.

More quarterback news for the Bears
After suffering the hamstring injury in Chicago's 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings last Sunday, Tyson Bagent came into the game in the fourth quarter but got hit in the closing moments of the game, leading to the worry around a concussion. With him now being in the concussion protocol, Rapoport speaks on the likelihood of Case Keenum starting on Monday.
“So generally, this would be the time when we would then talk about Tyson Bagent and how capable he is to step in there and be the backup,” Rapoport continued. “Except sources have now said that Tyson Bagent is in the NFL's concussion protocol, and his status is now up in the air for the game on Monday. Which means Case Keenum, QB three, obviously has had plenty of starts in the NFL; we know he can do it; he could, in fact, be the starter against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday.”
At any rate, it remains to be seen how Williams progresses and who will be the Bears' quarterback on Monday against the Eagles.
