Watson, 26, was elevated for special teams duties in the Browns’ first two games but suffered a knee injury on Sunday that will sidelined him for at least four weeks. Barnes, a six-year veteran, has 804 special teams snaps in his career and could quickly be part of Cleveland’s game day plans.
Hodgins, 27, will add some veteran receiver depth in Pittsburgh after Michael Pittman missed the Steelers’ Week 2 loss to the Patriots with a foot injury. Originally a Bills sixth-round pick in 2020, Hodgins was claimed off waivers by the Giants midway through the 2022 season. He emerged as a productive part of their passing game, racking up 54 receptions on 75 targets for 581 yards and seven touchdowns through the end of 2023. He did not make the 53-man roster in 2024 and appeared in just three games. Last year, Hodgins spent time with the 49ers and Steelers before returning to New York for seven games (five starts) during the regular season.
