The Pittsburgh Steelers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers hold a 1-1 record following their Week 2 loss against the New England Patriots. Things didn’t look pretty for the team during that outing.
Rodgers and the offense struggled to get anything going. When all was said and done, the Steelers were defeated by the defending AFC champions by a final score of 20-3.
Entering the 2026 NFL season, Rodgers made it clear that it would be his last. He will be heading off into the sunset of retirement following this year. Before he retires, Rodgers was hoping to make one more run at a Super Bowl.
Following Week 2 action, Rodgers has been hit with a brutal reality check. One specific statistic shows just how tough the start of the year has been for the future Hall of Fame signal caller.

Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers Hit With Brutal Reality Check
According to ESPN’s QBR rankings, Rodgers is third to last in the NFL so far this season. He sits with a 31.6 QBR. That rating places him above just Justin Herbert and Cooper Rush.
That number shows just how tough the offensive side of the football has been for Pittsburgh through two games.
In Week 1, the 42-year-old quarterback completed 24 of his 40 pass attempts for 221 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions. He backed that up with 187 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception against the Patriots, while completing 23 of his 39 passes.
At the end of the day, those numbers aren’t going to cut it. If the Steelers want to be a true Super Bowl contender, they are going to have a much more efficient offense.
While there are obvious reasons fro concern in Pittsburgh, the season is still young. Only two games have been played. There is still time for Rodgers and the offense to figure things out and get back on track.
Next up for the Steelers will be a Week 3 showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals at home. Rodgers will be aiming to get his season back on track after a brutal showing against New England. Hopefully, the team will be able to at least take a step in the right direction.
