Trae Young has shared his thoughts on why his tenure with the Atlanta Hawks wasn't successful.
Appearing on the Curious Mike podcast with Brooklyn Nets star Michael Porter Jr., Young said that he didn't have enough help to seriously compete with the Hawks.
"I don't know if I've ever had a teammate that can draw double teams," he stated.
He and Porter then joked that Young has probably never gotten a catch-and-shoot three arguing that he has always had to create for himself with no secondary creator around him.

Despite saying that there were no other playmakers with him and he could play off-ball even more, Young has played with a prominent playmaker in Dejounte Murray.
However, their union didn't pan out for the Hawks as the players both wanted to dominate the ball and ultimately failed to convert their duo into wins on the court.
In his first season with Atlanta, Murray averaged 6.1 assists, while in his second year he dished out 6.4 assists. Before coming to the Hawks, Murray recorded his career high assist average with 9.2 playing for the San Antonio Spurs.
Now, Young is set to play his first full season on another team. Teaming up with AJ Dybantsa and Anthony Davis on the Washington Wizards, Trae will have the opportunity to prove that with more help on a new team, he can have more success.
