Romano Confirms “Agreement Is Done” As Arsenal Make Their Next Move After Securing Arteta’s Future

Arsenal are set to agree new contracts with Mikel Arteta’s entire backroom team, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Arteta himself is poised to put pen to paper on a four-year extension, but Romano posted on X to say that an “agreement is done” for his coaching staff as well:

❤️🤍🔐 Not only Mikel Arteta but the whole backroom staff will sign new contract at Arsenal.

It is believed that up to 5 members of staff could sign on the dotted line over the coming days.

Which coaches will commit their future to Arsenal?

It is expected that Arteta’s right-hand man, Albert Stuivenberg, will be among those to agree new deals. The Dutchman is usually seen in deep discussion with Arteta on the touchline.

Former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze joined as first-team coach in 2025, and he is believed to have been very influential in the club’s recent success.

Highly rated set-piece coach Nicolas Jover, Goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana Pavon, and Miguel Molina are also likely to be handed extensions.

Arteta wants his whole team to get contracts

Speaking when he signed his last extension back in September 2024, the Gunners manager made it clear he wanted everyone to put pen to paper at the same time:

“We all tried to do it at the same time. It is difficult because four or five people committing at the same time is not easy to do. I am so happy with them, and I value them at the highest level. I want to continue together so hopefully it will be resolved very soon.”

It looks like the exact same thing will happen this time around, with an official announcement likely to happen before the end of the current international break.
