Brandon Ingram has had a turbulent summer after undergoing heel surgery and being part of the paused Kawhi Leonard trade.
Now, according to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, there is no clear update on his condition and whether he will be able to start the season.
"Brandon Ingram had surgery in the offseason on his foot, on his heel. We don't have an update on how he's gonna be. We're gonna hear at media day where he's at with his heel."
Ingram officially joined the Los Angeles Clippers after the NBA handed out punishments to the team's front office for their salary cap circumvention case involving Leonard.
Due to the investigation of the case the trade that sent Ingram and Gradey Dick to Los Angeles and Leonard to the Toronto Raptors was paused for a few months.

Ingram delivered a bounce-back campaign last 2025-26 season as a member of the Raptors, earning his second career All-Star honors. In 77 games, he averaged 21.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 47.7% from the field and 38.2% from three-point range.
Unfortunately, a late-season heel injury ruined Ingram and the Raptors. He struggled throughout the first round of the NBA Playoffs against the Cleveland Cavaliers, averaging just 12.0 points on an awful 32.8% shooting in five games.
He underwent right heel surgery back in May after the Raptors' opening-round loss.
