Andy Robertson says Dominik Szoboszlai is a "machine" who can train relentlessly every day, with the Liverpool man having earned plenty of plaudits for his intensity at Anfield.

‌

So far this season, Szoboszlai has been mixed in his performances. He was very poor against Fulham, for instance, but then scored a sensational goal against Tottenham a few days later in the Carabao Cup.

‌

Speaking on the Stick To Football podcast, which is out now on Disney+, the panel spoke about the intensity in training in the modern game, with Robertson suggesting that Szoboszlai was just as intense there as he tends to be in matches.

"I think you've just got to go off how you feel," Robertson said. "There's lads like that now — I look at Szoboszlai at Liverpool, he's a machine. Dom would train every single day, but other lads might not be able to do it. It's just how your body is."

Szoboszlai has been criticized at times this season, but he recently brushed off the suggestion that it impacts him negatively.

"This goal was for the people who are always next to me, because we are also humans, so we can have bad games," Szoboszlai told reporters after the Tottenham game.

"We can have bad days and I think never, ever was there a player who played well in every game of his life.

"There will be days also and games where I am going to play bad, but I think the most important thing is the reaction. I think I reacted quite well and hopefully I can keep on going on Sunday against Bournemouth."

Liverpool won that match but was not wholly convincing. Szoboszlai started alongside Alexis Mac Allister, while Florian Wirtz came under fire for his performance.

"That is our goal, to be always consistent and be there every week," Szoboszlai continued.

"But as I say, we are also humans. There will be games where we are maybe not at our top level.

"When we won the league, there were also games where we weren’t at the top of our game but at the end of the day we had the Premier League title in our hands, four games before the end of the season.

"The season is long, we are ready to go and that is all I can say."
