The New York Jets got bit by the injury bug.
Ahead of the Detroit Lions contest in Week 3, the Jets made a flurry of roster moves. That included placing three players on injured reserve: defensive tackle David Onyemata, wide receiver Arian Smith, and linebacker Marcelino McCrary Ball.
Each of those players will be out for a minimum of four games, but potentially longer.
Second-year Jets tight end Mason Taylor is considered week-to-week after suffering a thumb injury in Week 2. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport said it’s unlikely that Taylor suits up against Detroit.
The depth of this unit is going to get tested early during this 2026 season.
