Tyler Dibling may well have turned a corner at Everton, and Tim Cahill has dropped his verdict on the winger and the situation he finds himself in.

Everton have started the new campaign well and currently sit seventh after five Premier League games. The Toffees have also progressed to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup. And five clean sheets have been kept in the seven games in total so far.

David Moyes is extracting every last drop from his small squad so far, and fans have appreciated the job he’s done in tricky circumstances.

Many have also been very pleased to see Tyler Dibling start to make inroads at Everton.

And club legend Tim Cahill has been speaking about the 20-year-old in a new interview.

Tim Cahill makes exciting Tyler Dibling prediction

Speaking to BBC Radio Merseyside, Cahill – who also defended The Friedkin Group – said: “And I was really excited for Dibling because I feel like this player is going to have a massive season. And I think David Moyes has hardened him up and got the reaction he’s wanted.

“And the reaction is, if you want to play in this team, as much as you want to go forward, you have to run back as well. Now, that’s nothing against the player. That’s just maturing as an individual.”

Dibling made his first appearance of the season against Preston North End in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

His next then came against Wolves, and Dibling arguably produced his best performance ever for Everton. He showed great confidence and managed to grab himself a deserved assist.

Dibling’s performance drew praise from Moyes, who then gave him his first appearance in the Premier League against Ipswich Town, in the form of a cameo off the bench.

Buoyed by his showing against Wolves, Dibling made a positive impact again, and came close to scoring his first goal for the club.

It has been a tough time for him at Everton. After the Wolves game, Dibling hinted at the frustrations he’s felt having been sat on the bench for the most part.

But while the international break is perhaps a little untimely for him, this does feel like a potential turning point for him. And Everton fans would love it if Cahill’s prediction of him having a massive season comes true.

As Alan Irvine said, Dibling has so much talent. It is just about getting him to that point where he feels totally comfortable and confident, while meeting the demands of someone who can play in a David Moyes Everton team.
