Chelsea are well represented in The Athletic’s top 50 Premier League players list, put together after the first five sets of fixtures in the 2026/27 season.
The standout stars of Xabi Alonso’s side so far have been the attacking players, with Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers and Joao Pedro all finding the net on numerous occasions so far this season.
All three were named in August’s Team of the Month, while Pedro won the individual honour of Player of the Month for his excellent start to the campaign.

It is clear the trio are amongst the best attackers in the Premier League, and all three rank highly in the recently-published list of the top 50 players in the league.
New signing Rogers actually ranks highest of any Chelsea representative, being named 11th. He is followed by Palmer on 14th, who has turned opinion on him around with his return to form following his injury woes.
Pedro is the lowest ranked of the three, however is still rated as the 18th best player in the league.
The trio all rank higher than the likes of Florian Wirtz, Alexander Isak and Antoine Semenyo, who all recently moved for big money to fellow top Premier League clubs.
Given the start to the season the front three have had, it can be expected that they will continue to climb the standings.
Where do other Chelsea players rank in the top 50?
Moises Caicedo is yet to start a game this season, however he separates the Chelsea frontline with his ranking of 12th, one place behind Rogers.
Reece James has not overly benefitted from a new position in central midfield, however he was still ranked as the 31st best player in the league.
The final Chelsea representative is new signing Emi Martinez. Despite an indifferent start to life at Stamford Bridge, he is the 37th best player in the league.
