GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) — Eastern Carolina basketball fans will have a new way to watch the Charlotte Hornets during the 2026–27 NBA season.
The Charlotte Hornets and Gray Media announced Tuesday a new broadcast partnership that will bring games to more viewers across North and South Carolina.
In the Greenville-New Bern market, WITN 7.1 is expected to carry approximately eight Hornets games, while WITN 7.2 is expected to air approximately 75 games during the season.
The partnership begins in October and expands the Hornets’ local broadcast reach to six additional markets across the Carolinas. In addition to Greenville-New Bern, the agreement includes Charleston, Columbia, Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheville-Anderson, Myrtle Beach and Wilmington, along with Roanoke, Virginia.
Gray Media said the games will be available free over the air and through participating local cable and satellite providers. Broadcasts will also include pregame and postgame programming with team and league analysis.
The Hornets said market-specific schedules and more viewing information will be announced before the season begins.
“Our fans-first commitment means meeting fans where they are and making it easier for them to experience Hornets basketball,” Hornets Sports & Entertainment President Shelly Cayette-Weston said in a statement.
