There is plenty of praise right now for the current Chelsea attacking force, however Joao Pedro doesn’t even believe they are the best front three in the club’s history.
All three of Pedro, Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers have scored at least two goals during this Premier League season, with plenty of other goal involvements making up the Blues’ 18 goals scored in all competitions so far.
The trio were all named in August’s Team of the Month, and have made life very difficult for Estevao Willian and Geovany Quenda in their attempts to earn regular minutes.
Joao Pedro names the two Chelsea frontlines that are better than current attack
Despite the praise for Pedro, Palmer and Rogers, the Brazilian believes it is far too early for them to be considered the best in Premier League history.
In fact, he actually ranked an attacking force of Damien Duff, Didier Drogba and Arjen Robben, and rated the frontline of Eden Hazard, Diego Costa and Willian as even higher than that.
Both are responsible for delivering a Premier League title to Stamford Bridge, and this may be the kind of accolade the current Blues need to deliver before being recognised at those levels.
They are already eight points off the pace in the league this season, despite the fact they gave Arsenal a thorough examination at the Emirates earlier in the campaign.
Xabi Alonso has some serious defensive issues to work on during the international break. No side have conceded more goals than Chelsea in the Premier League so far this season.
Their inability to keep the ball out of their net has left the attack having to bail them out on a number of occasions. They scored seven goals across wins against Fulham and Brighton, but only won both by one goal.
Either way, the connection that has been instantly formed since Rogers joined the club in the summer is a real positive for the future of the Blues, with it only set to improve as time on the pitch goes on.
