Jayson Tatum Put On Blast Over Handling of Jaylen Brown Trade image

DeMarcus Cousins isn't very happy with Jayson Tatum.
On a recent episode of the "Gil's Arena" podcast, the 11-year NBA veteran put the Boston Celtics star on blast for not contacting Jaylen Brown after he was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers.
"For Jaylen Brown to come out and be like, 'I haven't talked to him.' That says a lot," said Cousins. "Especially for a guy you spent nine years with, won a championship with, went to multiple Conference championships, all of these things he mentioned and then I’m at one of the lowest points of my career and I don’t hear from the guy that supposedly had love for me."

When asked at his introductory press conference in August if he had spoken to Tatum, Brown said, "not really."
The Celtics and 76ers agreed to the trade on July 1, giving the former teammates more than a month to talk before Brown's introductory press conference. Brown's response raised eyebrows given that the two were teammates for nine seasons and won an NBA championship together.
Tatum and Brown's relationship has been the subject of speculation in recent years, with one report describing it "as close to non-existent as you could have" over the last two seasons. Tatum's recent comments painted a different picture. He called Brown a "tremendous person and a player" in an interview with Dan Patrick and said that he loves him.
Cousins wasn't buying Tatum's comments, calling them "PR."
"I expected a lot more support just throughout this process from Tatum," Cousins concluded.
