Dominik Szoboszlai has been tipped to follow in Steven Gerrard's footsteps at Liverpool, although the pair didn't get into too much detail when they met privately recently

Dominik Szoboszlai has revealed he didn’t discuss soccer at all when he got the chance to meet with Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
The Hungarian has been regularly compared to the Reds’ former captain for his all-action performances, with many tipping him to take on the club’s armband when Virgil van Dijk eventually departs.
The pair have met on a few occasions recently, with Gerrard having conducted an interview with Szoboszlai earlier this month, while there was also a private meeting away from the cameras between the two last month as Szoboszlai and Milos Kerkez came up against the former midfielder on the padel court.
It seems, though, that there were no discussions about Szoboszlai becoming Liverpool captain in the future, or any talk about on-field matters for that matter.
Asked during a new Liverpool roundtable discussion whether Gerrard had given him any advice during the padel game, Szoboszlai replied: “We didn't speak about football.”
When asked why, he added: “Because every day he speaks about football, and I speak about football.”
When asked what they talked about instead, Szoboszlai simply responded: “Padel.”

The midfielder later added: “He (Gerrard) said good luck for Sunday and take care of Milos. That's it.”
When asked who won, Szoboszlai said: “Well, the only thing I can say is Milos lost all of them.”
Although there might not have been any advice from Gerrard on this occasion, the Anfield legend has made his feelings on Szoboszlai perfectly clear.
Gerrard has previously tipped the Hungarian to follow in his footsteps as Liverpool captain, and has also backed him to hit new heights following a superb individual campaign last season.

"I like his mentality. He's evolved and he's grown a lot since he's become a Liverpool player," Gerrard told TNT Sports back in March. "We [Liverpool] obviously signed a big talent.
"He's in the prime years of his career. I think Liverpool are going to see the best of him. I hope he stays around for a long time because I think there's a potential captain in there.”
Gerrard added: "He's definitely a team player. I still think there's another level to him as well. I can see him potentially getting more goals, if he can have a consistent run in that 8/10 position.
"He's always in and around the box. His ball striking is phenomenal. His timing and his technique and he hits it with so much venom. The balls are getting lighter and lighter. He must be an absolute nightmare for the goalkeeper.”
