Juventus headed into the international break with three valuable points after beating Atalanta 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium in Serie A.

Goals from Chico Conceicao and Gleison Bremer, one in each half, secured the victory and extended Juventus’ positive run of form. The result has lifted the mood around the club after they had dropped points in back-to-back league games.

However, Juventus have suffered a major injury blow, with former Liverpool goalkeeper Kamil Grabara undergoing knee surgery after tearing his anterior cruciate ligament in training.

“I’m not going to ‌lie, this is not something I ever wanted to post, but life comes at you fast sometimes. Thanks a lot for all the messages, support and kind words,” Grabara wrote on Instagram.

The 27-year-old is expected to miss Poland’s upcoming Nations League matches against Bosnia and Herzegovina, with reports suggesting he could be sidelined for up to seven months.

Grabara joined Juventus on loan from Wolfsburg in August and made his debut last Thursday, providing an assist and winning the Player of the Match award in a 5-0 Europa League victory over NEC Nijmegen. He suffered the injury during training on Saturday, with tests later confirming an ACL tear.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Juventus have agreed a deal to sign former Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto on a short-term contract. The Brazilian goalkeeper will return to the club as cover following Grabara’s injury.

Romano posted on X: “Juventus agree deal to sign Neto as new goalkeeper, here we go! Short term contract agreed for the Brazilian GK who returns to Juventus after Kamil Grabara’s knee injury.”

The 37-year-old is currently a free agent and previously played for Juventus between 2015 and 2018, keeping 13 clean sheets in 22 appearances across all competitions.

Since leaving Turin, Neto has represented Valencia, Barcelona, Bournemouth, Arsenal and Botafogo, but now looks set to return to Juventus.

The Bianconeri completely revamped their goalkeeping department this summer, signing Guglielmo Vicario on loan from Tottenham Hotspur and allowing Michele Di Gregorio and Mattia Perin to leave.
