Stephen Curry is one of the most successful players of the modern era. He has four championships, and he was a superstar for every bit of that success. The Golden State Warriors were a dynasty, especially during the two championships in 2017 and 2018.

However, it seems that Curry was having an issue during that time. Now that it has been revealed, it might make people respect Curry's amazing performances during that time in his career.

Stephen Curry reveals an issue that made his success more impressive

Around 2018, it appears that Curry was dealing with an issue with his eyes. It was bad enough that he was struggling with poor vision during the pinnacle of the Warriors' success as a team.

This makes that run even more impressive because Curry was playing at an elite level. Since shooting usually needs a more precise eye, having poor vision makes his perimeter play even more impressive.

At times, Curry was caught squinting during games. That showed that he was indeed having issues with his eyesight, which is a huge problem for any professional athlete, let alone a basketball player.

"It was 2018, and I didn't know I was really dealing with crazy blurred vision or distorted images. It was just the way that I saw things, and we compensated around it," Curry said to Natasha Dye of People via Doric Sam of Bleacher Report.

"They told me that I had a rare condition called Keratoconus, the irregular-shaped cornea that obviously leads to blurriness and distorted images. What I found out about it was it's a progressive condition that can deteriorate your vision over time, and it's irreversible if it goes in the wrong direction."

Nowadays, Curry has been getting his eyes checked every six months. He has also made sure to put on his contacts all the time, so he won't have vision problems anymore.

At the same time, he also worked with professionals to make sure that he does not suffer from anxiety because of his eyes. That is a big deal because he remains confident in his performances, and that has shown over the years.
