The married couple were found dead at their home in Newbury Park, authorities say.
A couple in their 80s were found dead at their Thousand Oaks home Monday after a family member asked deputies to check on them, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said.
Aleksander Tukalski, 89, and Kazia Berlach Tukalska, 86, had not been reachable for some time, according to a sheriff’s office news release. A caller asked deputies to check on the couple at Newbury Park home on Lucas Court shortly after 11 a.m. Monday. Deputies found a man and a woman dead inside. The sheriff’s office identified them as Tukalski and Tukalska and said they were married.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for the property, and an investigator from the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office examined the scene. A firearm was found, the sheriff’s office said. Detectives believe the deaths were an “isolated incident” and said there is no threat to the public. The medical examiner will determine how the couple died.
