Liverpool have had a strong start to the season, remaining unbeaten in all competitions under new manager Andoni Iraola.
The Reds have claimed two wins and three draws from their five Premier League games so far in this campaign, while they defeated Atletico Madrid in their first Champions League game and beat Tottenham 3-1 in the EFL Cup to progress to the fourth round.
But the team are battling with several injury issues, with their squad considered to be relatively small for a club competing in four competitions this season, and that means there are likely to be some transfers looked at heading into the January transfer window.
Iraola brought in Victor Munoz, Ronald Araujo and Bradley Barcola during the summer, while Jeremy Jacquet also arrived following his signing in January 2025 under Arne Slot's tenure. But the midfield area of the pitch is believed to be an area that the manager wants to bolster too.
Alexis Mac Allister is into the final year of his contract at Anfield, and has admitted that there are currently no talks ongoing over an extension. Curtis Jones was sold, while Harvey Elliott left on loan, and Dominik Szoboszlai has struggled in a slightly deeper midfield role.
Ryan Gravenberch has also found good form hard to come by so far, while Wataru Endo is seemingly not in Iraola's first-team plans, having failed to make an appearance so far.

GIVEMESPORT sources reported after the transfer deadline passed that Liverpool had made contact with Monaco star Lamine Camara's representatives to tell them about their interest in taking the Senegal international to Senegal, with Chelsea having seen a late move collapse.
Now, according to TEAMtalk, the Reds have been given the green light to get a deal done in the new year, with Chelsea having dropped out of the race for his signature.
Camara Would Be Perfect Liverpool Signing

Chelsea were keen on Camara as a replacement for Enzo Fernandez following his £125m move to Man City, but he is a very different player to the Argentine.
Camara is a more defensive-minded player who breaks up play well, but is also more than comfortable in possession. Gravenberch, Mac Allister, and Szoboszlai are all at their best in more forward-thinking roles, and the 22-year-old would be the perfect addition to provide more balance for Iraola.
Wataru Endo was brought in for a similar reason, but he has never quite been good enough to claim a starting role, and at 33 his time at Anfield is essentially over.
Interest in Camara has been high for a while, and Monaco boss Filipe Luis admitted during the summer that he wasn't surprised as the player was 'one of the best in the world'.
"We are probably talking about one of the best midfielders in the world," he said.
"I don't want to talk about him too much, because I know a lot of clubs would love to have him in their squad, and he is very important to me. He has that quality on the ball, covers a lot of ground, he is truly top class! I am really happy to have him, and he is going to play a key role in the team."
Camara would be a major upgrade, and with Monaco clearly ready to sell and Chelsea now out of the running, Liverpool have a clear run at bringing in a star.
