Viktor Gyokeres has seen his transfer value drop since completing a move to Arsenal. The striker has had a mixed time since moving to Emirates Stadium.

‌

He signed for Arsenal from Sporting CP last summer for a £55 million fee, which could rise to £63.5m. In his first season with the club, he scored 21 times in 55 appearances in all competitions.

‌

Despite helping Mikel Arteta's side lift the Premier League trophy and reach the Champions League final, he received some criticism for his performances throughout the campaign.

‌

So far this campaign, the 28-year-old has struggled for regular game time. He has been a late substitute in two of the five Premier League games and has been left on the bench for the remaining three.

The indifferent form and lack of regular starts now seem to have had an impact on his value. According to Transfermarkt, just before his move to Arsenal, Gyokeres was valued at €75m (£64.5m).

In December 2025, his value had dropped to €70 million (£60.2m). Five months later, in May this year, it dropped again to €65m (£55.9m), the latest valuation back in June has him at the same price.

It means in just over a year, the striker’s transfer value has dropped by €10m (£8.6m). It comes amid claims that Arsenal saw off interest from clubs in the summer transfer window.

Speaking on his Here We Go podcast, journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that there are ‘people already talking’ about a potential transfer away from Arsenal next year, but he hinted, as it stands, that the club will want to keep hold of the striker.

He adds that Arsenal snubbed interest from ‘top clubs’ in Spain back in the summer, with Gyokeres not for sale. It’s added that the club still expect him to be a very important player as the season goes on.

The only thing that will change that is if the ‘right club with big money’ comes along to tempt Arsenal into selling. However, for Arsenal to receive the sort of money they are expected to want, Gyokeres’ form, and therefore value, will have to improve, meaning the Gunners are more likely to want to keep hold of him.

Gyokeres is currently away with Sweden on international duty, and he has been given the full backing of his international manager, Graham Potter. "Things happen. It goes up and down, just like it does in life,” the Sweden boss said.

“He is a Premier League winner. He scored many goals as a number nine for Arsenal. He was incredible in the qualifiers and also had a good World Cup.”

He added: "Players at this level will always get criticism at some point. But there is no problem here.

“We love Viktor. He enjoys being here. We will create the best conditions for him so that he can continue to be a top player.”
