The Boston Celtics have signed shooting guard Hayden Gray to a deal, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Gray finished last season with the Utah Jazz after spending most of the 2025-26 campaign with Boston's G League affiliate, the Maine Celtics.
The 23-year-old appeared in 48 G League games for Maine, including 23 starts, averaging 9.9 points, 5.8 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 steals in 27.9 minutes per game.
He also set a Maine single-season record with 99 steals.
After signing a multi-year deal with Utah in April, Gray made his NBA debut the following day and finished with six points, one assist, one steal, and one block in his lone appearance for the Jazz.
Gray returns to Celtics organization
The move marks a return to familiar surroundings for Gray, who originally joined Boston for the 2025 NBA Summer League and later signed an Exhibit 10 contract before being waived ahead of training camp.
Gray then remained in the organization with Maine until earning his NBA call-up from Utah.
Before going undrafted in 2025 and turning professional, Gray played two seasons at UC San Diego after beginning his college career at Azusa Pacific.
In his final college season, he averaged 11.2 points, 3.3 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and an NCAA-leading 3.1 steals per game, while earning Big West Defensive Player of the Year honors.
