The Arizona Cardinals are 1-1 to begin the 2026 NFL season, winning Week 1 over the Los Angeles Chargers, but dropping Week 2 to the Seattle Seahawks.
This 2026 season is a rebuilding year for the Cardinals, and they're one team to keep an eye on at the NFL trade deadline. Some veteran players could be on the move this Fall. But there's one name that's recently emerged who'd be a fascinating trade option.
According to ESPN's Dan Graziano, NFL executives are wondering if the Cardinals will consider trading away Marvin Harrison Jr. at the deadline this year. While it's way too soon to tell the Cardinals' plans, this is a rumor worth keeping in mind this year.

"Execs around the league are wondering whether the Arizona Cardinals could explore trading 2024 No. 4 overall pick Marvin Harrison Jr. ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline," Graziano writes.
Trading away Harrison would be a bold move for the Cardinals, as it would be only a few seasons after taking him with the No. 4 pick that they ship him out.
It would be an admission that they've given up on him, or at least the new coaching regime has. Mike LaFleur could decide to stick by Michael Wilson, whom the Cardinals just signed to an extension this offseason, as their top WR going forward.
A trade of Harrison, unfortunately, would make sense. He's still only 24 years old and is a highly-touted prospect who might still have a high ceiling.
But through two games this year, he has one catch for 33 yards on four targets, and he doesn't look nearly as explosive as he did earlier in his career.

Harrison's rookie year wasn't bad at all, as he caught 62 of 116 targets for 885 yards and eight touchdowns in 17 games. But last year, Harrison missed some time, catching 41 of 73 targets for 608 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games.
After two weeks, Harrison is trending towards another year of regression. It's been a very disappointing tenure for Harrison with the Cardinals, even though it's been less than two full seasons of games for the former No. 4 overall pick.
But with Wilson signed long-term and Harrison under contract for only one more year on his rookie deal after 2026, a trade of Harrison at the 2026 NFL trade deadline would make sense.
That's why these NFL executives are, according to Graziano, wondering if the Cardinals will make a move to trade Harrison. It would not be a surprise if he's dealt, even though conventional wisdom might suggest otherwise.
