There are few players in the one-cap club at Arsenal.
Indeed, there’s a handful of players from over the years who came and went while only ever playing one game for the club. Ismael Bennacer and Glen Kamara only ever played once for the club, while Andy Cole famously only ever made one league appearance for the Gunners.
Meanwhile, you would be forgiven for forgetting one other player who belongs in this less-than-illustrious club – the former Barcelona goalkeeper, Neto.
The Brazilian joined Arsenal on loan on deadline day back in 2024, but he would only play once for the club before leaving.
Neto’s only appearance came for Arsenal in the Champions League against Girona, where he dropped a serious clanger.
After his spell at Arsenal, the Brazilian headed back to Brazil to play for Botafogo for a season, and after being released over the summer, he’s a free agent – for now at least.
Indeed, Neto may be set to land on his feet as according to Di Marzio, the goalkeeper could be set for a surprising move to Juventus.
Juve are in a bit of a pickle when it comes to their goalkeeping situation as Kamil Grabara is out injured, leaving The Old Lady short in the goalkeeping department.
Guglielmo Vicario is there on loan, but, beyond that, Juventus don’t have much depth between the sticks.
Neto was, of course, Juventus’ first-choice goalkeeper once upon a time, and now, he may be set for a return to the Italian giants.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time a former Arsenal goalkeeper has landed on their feet and got a surprise move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Wojciech Szczesny actually retired from football back in 2024, but after an injury to Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, he remarkably reversed his decision to sign for Barcelona, where he remains to this day.
Neto probably didn’t expect to end up back at Juventus after his disappointing spell at Arsenal, that’s for sure.
