Jaxson Dart is set to miss the 2026 NFL season, months after Donald Trump predicted a successful campaign
Donald Trump predicted that the New York Giants could be Super Bowl contenders because of quarterback Jaxson Dart, though his season is already over with surgery lined up
New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart has been told that he's the latest victim of the 'Donald Trump curse' after suffering damage to his MCL, PCL, and meniscus.
Dart is set to undergo season-ending surgery to repair his meniscus that was damaged during the Giants' 28-6 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams. Dart was sandwiched by two pass rushers during the first quarter, and his leg bent awkwardly, forcing him off the field.
The Giants' quarterback faced criticism earlier this year for introducing Donald Trump at a rally in the heart of New York's offseason, and shook hands on stage with the U.S. President. Trump is known for being on the wrong side of sports predictions, and claimed that Dart would have a successful season with the Giants.

Before the NFL season began, Trump offered his Super Bowl picks to ESPN's Laura Rutledge. "Maybe I'll pick a few," Trump said. "I think New England looks good. I think the Giants – I like their quarterback (Jaxson Dart) a lot. I think that they say the L.A. Rams are looking very strong.
"But I better not get into this too much, I'm gonna get myself in trouble if I do. But I think you have a lot of good teams, a lot of great teams. And we'll see how it turns out. I'll be watching."
Dart's injury against the Rams had fans linking his misfortune to meeting Trump. "Jaxson Dart appears to be the latest victim of the Trump curse," one NFL fan said on social media. "Trump supporter Jaxson Dart injured. The Trump Curse is real," another remarked.

Jaxson Dart and the Trump Curse
Fans have told New York Giants quarterback that he's the latest athlete to experience the 'Donald Trump curse' after requiring season-ending surgery following the Week 2 defeat to the Los Angeles Rams. The 'Trump curse' is a viral internet phenomenon and fan superstition that suggests sports teams, leagues, or athletes endorsed or watched by Donald Trump experience bad luck, injuries, or brutal defeats. On Monday Night Football, Dart and the Giants suffered all three against the Rams. Dart has suffered damage to his MCL, PCL, and meniscus, and the Giants believe that he can complete a full recovery with surgery. However, that means shutting him down for the season. The Giants' quarterback faced backlash for introducing Trump at a rally in New York during the NFL offseason. Trump has been extremely fond of Dart since he joined the league, but his second year has been shut down.
