Green Bay Packers: Reveal Status of Overpaid and Injured Guard for Week 3 1
Injuries continue to decimate the Green Bay Packers’ offensive line, with four of the ten linemen injured, including Zach Bako-Bewele, who is out for the season with a torn patellar tendon. Aaron Banks exited the second quarter of Week 2 with a toe injury and did not return for the remainder of the game. Banks was estimated as a non-participant on Monday and was a non-participant during Tuesday’s walkthrough. Matt LaFleur said during Tuesday’s press conference that the overpaid and injured left guard is a game-time decision.
However, the Packers have changed their minds.

Aaron Banks was listed as a non-participant during Wednesday’s walkthrough, a negative sign regarding his availability for Thursday Night Football. According to Wes Hodkiewicz of the team’s website, the Packers have ruled out Banks for the game against the Falcons. This will be the second game he has missed this season.

Meanwhile, Donovan Jennings, who started Week 1 and first replaced Banks in Week 2, has no official injury designation after leaving the previous game in the fourth quarter with a hand injury. Jennings was a non-participant on Monday but was upgraded to a limited participant on Tuesday and Wednesday. Expect the former undrafted free agent to get the starting nod at right guard for Thursday over rookie fan favorite Jager Burton. Yesterday, Adam Stenavich explained that he is ahead of Burton because of his stronger finish to training camp.
“We had Donovan Jennings ahead of him in the rotation. … And that was just kind of what we saw the last few weeks of camp. Donovan was playing better. Jager wasn’t. But we write that in pencil, not in pen,” Stenavich said, via Jason B. Hirschhorn.
What about their new RT?

After not being listed on Monday, Anthony Belton popped up on Tuesday’s injury report with an elbow injury and was downgraded to a limited participant. The good news is that Belton upgraded to a full participant on Wednesday and has no injury designation for tomorrow’s game. He will get the starting nod at right guard.
Because the Packers have eight healthy offensive linemen, they may not elevate a lineman to the game-day roster. However, the team could promote one to the active roster to fill Zach Bako-Bewele’s spot.
