Marvin Harrison Jr. isn’t off to a great start this season. The Arizona Cardinals wide receiver has recorded only one catch for 33 yards through the first two games. With that said, there’s a possibility the Cardinals could place him on the trading block.
Recently, Michael Moraitis of The Big Lead came up with a few teams that should trade for Marvin Harrison Jr., and the Las Vegas Raiders were one of the franchises listed:
“Few, if any, teams in the NFL need help at wide receiver more than the Raiders. Outside of adding Jalen Nailor, who has never been more than a No. 3 target, the Raiders did almost nothing at wide receiver this offseason. Along with Nailor, the Raiders have Tre Tucker, who is a solid No. 3, and unproven players like second-year wideout Jack Bech and rookie Malik Benson.”
“It isn’t just about this year, though. The Raiders desperately need to build up their receivers room for the future with No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza waiting in the wings. Brock Bowers can’t do it all by himself, and now that he’s had knee issues in back-to-back years, there’s long-term concern for the superstar tight end. At 24 years old, Harrison could be just what the doctor ordered for the Raiders for years to come, assuming Klint Kubiak can get the young wideout on track.”
The Raiders could use another receiver, and perhaps Marvin Harrison, Jr. is the guy.
The Las Vegas Raiders Need to Trade for Marvin Harrison Jr.
His Career Thus Far
During his three-year stay at Ohio State, Marvin Harrison Jr. was “must-see” TV every Saturday. The two-time All-American caught 155 passes for 2,613 yards and 31 touchdowns.
Harrison put together a sensational 2023 season with the Buckeyes with 67 receptions for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also had a pair of rushing attempts for 26 yards (13 yards per carry) and a touchdown.
Harrison was a Heisman Trophy finalist. He finished fourth in voting behind quarterbacks Jayden Daniels (LSU), Michael Penix Jr. (Washington), and Bo Nix (Oregon).
The Cardinals later selected Marvin Harrison Jr. with the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He had a decent rookie year with 62 catches for 885 yards and eight touchdowns. The following season, he caught 41 passes for 608 yards and four touchdowns as he missed five games due to injury.

With a 2-0 record, the Raiders are one of the most surprising teams this season as veteran Kirk Cousins is doing a fine job as the team’s starting quarterback.
The Raiders, of course, selected signal-caller Fernando Mendoza with the first overall pick in this year’s draft. It’s unclear, though, when he’ll take over as the starter.
But whether it’s Cousins or Mendoza under center, Las Vegas needs to add another talented playmaker. That’s why a Marvin Harrison Jr. trade would make a lot of sense.
While Harrison had a ton of hype coming out of college a few years ago, he has failed to live up to lofty expectations. Yet, he could morph into a star in Las Vegas. Sometimes a change of scenery can help a player quite a bit.
Marvin Harrison Jr. has a bunch of potential. Add him to an offense that possesses guys like Mendoza (if he becomes the franchise quarterback he’s expected to be), tight end Brock Bowers, and running back Ashton Jeanty, the Raiders could have an extremely bright future. Yet, it’s unclear what Las Vegas would have to give up in a trade.
